A Place Everyone Should See...

So, as most of you know, Elisha, Eve, and I traveled to Italy this winter for a class. In our free time we hopped over to Paris to see the sights. Thanks to a tip from Eve's friend Ben, we discovered the Centre Pompidou. This place is a dream for artists and architects alike; from the inside out there is nothing that is not visually stimulating. It is like the MoMA and P.S. 1 and Disney World combined, and is officially my favorite museum, ever. It's called the inside out building by some because, well, it looks inside out. There are escalators on the outer walls and inner supports on the outside. It's really interesting, you can spot in from a mile away next to the rest of the Parisian buildings. It houses work from some of my favorite artists of all time like Dali, Picasso, Duchamp, Derain, and Rothko, to name a few.

The museum has an amazing modern art collection, but unlike most museums I've seen lately, it also has an extensive contemporary art collection, which was incredible.  This piece is an
airplane and stuck inside it, is a bunch of stuff (tweezers, scissors, etc) that was confiscated at airport security. Really awesome and very funny too.

This piece was just a trip, it reminded me of something Katie would do. There were so many amazing pieces I can't even begin to scratch the surface here. All I can say is, go! But just in case you can't get there right away, check out their virtual tours here:
