So Thursday after class VMack and I went down to 20th ST to check out the Hank Willis Thomas show. I truthfully didn't know, well, anything about him until Heather's presentation in Sean's class. I liked what I saw, so knew it would be worthwhile to go to his new show. The show was at the Jack Shainman Gallery (http://www.jackshainman.com/) and it was a very eclectic mix of things. A lot of installation type pieces, a lot of stuff dealing with lights and movement. It was really interesting and different. My favorite piece was "This Is My Best Sell Your Hard Times."

I didn't catch all the different sayings, it was moving pretty quickly, but you get the general idea. Of course the gallery wasn't purple, but I took some artistic freedom, and made them purple. It reminds me of how flippant people can be and how quick we are to label everything that happens to us or people around us.
