Jenny Holzer

So you know how Sean has been asking me to look up Jenny Holzer for class? Well turns out I already know her work, and I love it!

Thanks to Brian giving us a snow day on the same day her show opened at the Whitney, I obviously had to go see it. Now is the time that I unfortunately have to beg you to go see it too. Her LED light displays are what I am most familiar with (and in love with), but all of her work is both intriguing and provocative.

Here are some videos of her work because photography just doesn't do it justice. Now that I think of it, these videos don't even do it justice. The atmosphere was absolutely magnetic, from the way the lights projected their colors onto the white walls to the soft clicking the mechanical bands.





Her site features her building projections, which are not unlike what Sasha showed us in class.

Bottom line, go to the Whitney and get lost in some lights.
