A Week From Today!

Get excited guys it's almost here. A few things:

1. The extra $20 everyone is paying was NOT added by us and it is NOT the money for the beer or wine.

James, Enis, and I (I believe) will be fronting the money for the Beer and Wine out of pocket and hoping we will make it back from raffle ticket sales.

The Extra $20 everyone is paying was added by Red Bull to provide us with bartenders to serve the beer and wine (This is a law there has to be bartenders serving the alcohol and they have to be Red Bull Employees).

2. James and I met with Red Bull and Anchor Bar Last Night and everything is set and ready to go!

Red bull is very excited to host the show. We have the space from 9am - 7pm Friday, May 1st to set up the show. Please make sure you get there with enough time hang and light your work. BE PREPARED FOR EVERYTHING TO GO WRONG, then you will be amped when things go smoothly.

The show has to be taken down by 11pm may 2nd. It shouldn't take that long to break down so we can start in the afternoon or evening.

The event is all ages. Everyone over 21 will receive a wrist band. As people leave they can go to Anchor Bar (about 4 blocks away we walked it last night it was about 2 mins) they will receive a free drink coupon at the door if they have a bracelet from red bull. The coupon is good for one FREE vodka red bull!

There will be raffle tickets sold at the show to win prizes. The winners will be announced at midnight at Anchor Bar.

The guys at Anchor Bar were really cool and they are pumped to host an after party. They have some cool DJs there and the place is pretty cool.

3. Selling Work @ The Show

Please E-Mail me Your name, The Title of Your Series, and The title of each individual image (if you would like to have them sold individually), and a price (if you want to sell them) for each image or for the entire series.

I will give you numbered dots to place next to the images and there will be a printout with the info on each image and the price (if you want to sell them). You will get one number per image.

Send Price Sheet Info to Joseph.Caraccio@gmail.com

*If I don't receive an email from you by Wednesday evening your work will not be on the price sheet.

I finally watched Taxi Driver tonight. I really wish Brian and Peter let us watch it in the movie class. I also wish I had some really awesome lenses. Too bad I can't find any good images from the film with all the street lights in the rear-view mirror. Now back to editing my own film!

Pheonix, AZ

I found this pretty awesome artist, Marcus Payzont, while googling the other day. He makes illustrations, that I think are different from a lot of stuff I've seen, I know there are a lot of you who are interested in illustration so check out some of his work:

Here's what he has to say about his work:

"My current work explores the relationship between objects and places which are commonly overlooked or very commonplace. By using these items and pairing them together I hope to generate a commentary that transcends the normalcy of the objects. My work also deals with the relationships between drawing and painting, real and abstract, natural and artificial, and translating the three dimensional onto a two dimensional surface. The tension created by these relationships aids in the process and final product of every piece."

Spring Break

I never really got into video before, so during Spring Break I tried taking as much video as possible. Here are the fruits of my labor!

There is also a pretty excellent video of James out there, but out of kindness I won't post that here. Hope you enjoy!

Some Work for the Show

" Fashion Portraiture" . I've contacted industry professionals who are also considered  " Image-Makers , such as agents, photographers, designers, stylists, publishers, publicist's,writers, and some people in front of the camera. To see if I could photograph them in their working environment. This project has given me also the opportunity  to meet some of  the people whose work I really admire in the Fashion Industry.

Heres a portrait I did of Agency founder Jed Root.
Check out the amazing roster of artists he reps www.jedroot.com

Anybody who needs space for projection-use your body as a canvas

Printed Matter

I think I might make a box filled with black paper, a pink ink pad and 6 2x3 lino cuts of my pink monster images for my final portfolio. Here are the things from Printed Matter that gave me this idea.
maybe I should use subtitles
